This high-impact role will oversee a large and diverse team across sales and marketing functions, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will partner closely with key internal stakeholders, including Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Compliance, Market Access and Legal teams, to shape and execute our business strategy in alignment with our corporate vision and objectives.

Job Description



  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead and manage the overall strategy for the Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic therapeutic area across all key markets, ensuring alignment with global and regional priorities.
    • Direct the execution of the sales and marketing plans, delivering on both primary care and specialty care business objectives.
    • Drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability through innovative, patient-centric strategies.
    • Uphold and cultivate a visionary culture that fosters collaboration, high performance, and a commitment to excellence.


  • Team Management:
    • Lead a team of nearly 200 employees within the sales and marketing functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, performance standards, and personal development.
    • Foster an environment of collaboration, empowerment, and accountability within the team, promoting innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
    • Oversee talent development, coaching, and succession planning to build high-performing, diverse teams.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Compliance, and Legal/Policy teams to ensure that all commercial activities are compliant and aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks.
    • Drive effective collaboration with Regional and Global Headquarters to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
    • Lead and support product launches, market access strategies, and advocacy efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.


  • Market & Business Analysis:
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on business performance, market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic therapeutic areas.
    • Analyze market data to identify areas for growth, assess market access challenges, and develop strategies to address unmet patient needs.


  • Visionary Leadership:
    • Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence, ensuring the business unit remains at the forefront of advancements in the therapeutic area.
    • Champion change management initiatives and lead the organization through periods of transformation, aligning teams around new goals and challenges.



The Successful Applicant

  • Education:
    • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or similar preferred).
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a proven track record in leadership roles within sales, marketing, or business development, ideally in the Cardiovascular, Renal, and/or Metabolic therapeutic areas.
    • Extensive experience managing large, cross-functional teams, with a strong focus on strategic leadership and talent development.
    • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal teams.
    • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and business optimization.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
    • Strong strategic thinking, business planning, and execution capabilities.
    • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory and compliance considerations.
    • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and effectively manage relationships across geographies.
