Job Description



  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Assist the Global CTO in developing and implementing the bank's technology strategy, with a focus on engineering excellence.
    • Lead the engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure digital banking solutions.
    • Drive innovation and stay updated with the latest technological trends and advancements in the banking industry.


  • Engineering Management:
    • Oversee the end-to-end engineering processes, including software development, system architecture, and infrastructure.
    • Ensure the engineering team follows best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to deliver high-quality software products.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the engineering team.


  • Rural Banking Solutions:
    • Understand the unique requirements and challenges of rural banking and develop tailored digital solutions to address them.
    • Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure the banking services meet the needs of rural communities.


  • Technical Oversight:
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
    • Conduct regular code reviews and technical assessments to maintain high standards of software quality.
    • Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of the bank's digital platforms.


  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, operations, and compliance, to deliver cohesive and integrated banking solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, to report on technical progress and challenges.



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in a engineering leadership role, preferably within the banking industry.
  • Strong background in software development, system architecture, and infrastructure management.
  • Experience in developing digital banking solutions and understanding of rural banking challenges is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, etc.).
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
