Job Description

The E-commerce Manager is responsible for:

Online Sales & Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and implement the sales and marketing strategy for the client's online business, considering competition, trends, and local complexities.
  • Create strategies for online market entry and category growth, collaborating across different areas and stakeholders, including joint business plans, quarterly business reviews, and establishing working methods with marketplaces, omnichannel retailers, pure online retailers, and social media channels.



Governance:

  • Work closely with the SEA eCommerce Lead to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Ensure consistent online brand execution and implementation of omnichannel operating principles.



Mapping and Customer Data:

  • Conduct thorough mapping of online retailers and marketplaces, continually updating data to track market trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Classify customers based on relevant criteria and collaborate on leveraging data for enhancing the client's and other relevant systems.



Pricing and Trade Terms:

  • Define pricing and trade terms strategies that support growth ambitions, aligning with regional/global approaches, especially for international e-commerce key accounts.



Category Leadership:

  • Provide insights and strategies for online categories.
  • Align with Global Category Leadership to localize deployment strategies, translating category management into growth initiatives and joint business plans.
  • Explore various channel opportunities, including B2B2C and B2C.



Relationship Management:

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, eDistributors, third-party logistics providers, local customers (omnichannel and pure online players), marketplaces, agencies, and customer care teams.



Reporting and Information Sharing:

  • Participate in best practices sharing with peers and teams at local, cluster, regional, and global levels.
  • Oversee data collection and conduct regular business reviews with local partners.
  • Develop comprehensive reports for sharing at local and broader management levels.

The Successful Applicant

The E-commerce Manager should have:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, merchandising, or related fields.
  • Thorough grasp of e-commerce and digital platforms.
  • Previous involvement with online marketplaces like Lazada, Shopee, etc.
  • Preferred experience includes developing and overseeing online businesses for direct (.com) and shop-in-shop setups on marketplaces or retail websites.
  • Profound understanding and oversight of all e-commerce metrics.
  • Proficiency in both devising strategies and planning, and executing demand generation, merchandising, and marketing initiatives to foster online business growth
