Job Description

This pivotal role will involve leading commercial strategies, developing business plans, managing key accounts, and optimizing the sales process for both direct healthcare professionals (ethical) and wholesale/distributor (trade) networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a track record of success in commercial management.Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of commercial strategies for both ethical and trade channels to meet revenue and market share targets.
  • Identify and drive new business opportunities across both channels, focusing on long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Develop and manage the P&L for ethical and trade channels, ensuring profitable growth while maintaining cost control.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, wholesalers, distributors, and trade partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial professionals to execute strategies and achieve KPIs effectively.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, regulatory, and medical affairs teams to ensure alignment and the effective positioning of products.



Market Analysis & Business Development

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics in both ethical and trade sectors to refine strategies.
  • Conduct regular market research and segmentation analysis to identify unmet needs and potential growth opportunities.
  • Provide commercial input for product launches, ensuring both ethical and trade channels are adequately targeted and supported.



Sales & Account Management

  • Drive sales and revenue generation by building and executing targeted sales strategies for both ethical and trade customers.
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop customized solutions and offerings for key accounts in both channels.
  • Manage relationships with key accounts (hospitals, clinics, distributors, wholesalers, and pharmacies), negotiating pricing and contracts as necessary.
  • Oversee and track performance against sales goals and KPIs for the ethical and trade channels, taking corrective actions when needed.



Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards across both channels.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all compliance guidelines, ensuring trade and ethical activities are conducted within the regulatory framework.
  • Provide regular performance reports, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in commercial leadership within the pharmaceutical industry.
    • Proven track record in both ethical and trade channels, with a focus on sales, business development, and strategy execution.
    • Extensive experience managing key accounts, including wholesalers, distributors, and healthcare providers.
    • Experience in market analysis, strategic planning, and P&L management.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of building high-performance teams.
    • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, including those governing ethical marketing and trade practices.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, market trends, and customer feedback to drive business decisions.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office Suite, and other business software.
