The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair services for advanced life science equipment. This role is based in Singapore and requires expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining specialized systems in the life science industry.

Job Description

  • Provide on‑site and remote technical support including installation, commissioning, calibration, repair, and preventive maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues within customer IT environments.
  • Support sales and marketing activities through technical assistance at demos, seminars, exhibitions, and workshops, including occasional weekend work.
  • Perform functional checks, audits, and corrective actions, ensuring timely and accurate service reporting through CRM and scheduling tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, service administration, operations, marketing) to resolve technical issues and meet agreed KPIs.
  • Collect market and competitive intelligence during customer visits and escalate systemic quality issues to the Service Manager.

The Successful Applicant

Non‑Negotiables:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a relevant technical qualification.
  • 4-6 years' experience in covering advanced ophthalmic diagnostic systems, surgical microscopes, and laser technologies used in leading hospitals and eye centers.
  • With experience in medical equipment technical support, including hands‑on troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and IT connectivity in healthcare environments.
  • Experience with data management systems, patient management systems, or cloud‑based medical solutions.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English.



Good‑to‑Haves:

  • Experience with LAN integration, firewall/security settings, and remote diagnostic tools.
  • Exposure to service KPIs such as response time, resolution time, NPS, or CSI.
  • Previous experience supporting sales demos, exhibitions, or clinical workshops.
  • Willingness to travel regionally or internationally when required.
