The Head of Commercial is responsible for the end-to-end performance of a business unit. He/she will lead a team of brand managers and store operators in daily operations to deliver brand growth and performance metrics across e-commerce platforms. He/she will also directly partner with the Country Head to identify opportunities, develop business strategies, and optimize internal processes.

Job Description

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to meet and exceed brand objectives.
  • Create and implement business strategies with clear KPIs, backed by solid marketing, commercial, and operational plans.
  • Oversee the financial health and profitability of the business unit.
  • Continuously evaluate business performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and uncover new growth opportunities.
  • Establish and share best practices within the organisation to enhance overall operations.
  • Contribute to the broader commercial strategy and business planning processes.
  • Streamline procedures by reviewing and improving operational workflows.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support for team members to help them grow and succeed.
  • Build and nurture lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including brands and marketplace platforms.
  • Lead negotiations for annual agreements with brands and e-commerce partners.
  • Tackle challenges with external partners, ensuring smooth resolutions.
  • Stay on top of e-commerce trends and opportunities, turning them into actionable growth plans.
  • Present product proposals to both prospective and existing e-commerce partners.
  • Keep a close eye on industry trends and competitive insights to stay ahead.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing training of the team to drive continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

  • Over 7 years of experience in commercial or category management, particularly in the e-commerce space.
  • A degree in business, communications, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong strategic mindset paired with excellent negotiation abilities.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects while maintaining a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key industry players.
  • Adept at managing relationships both within the organisation and with external customers.
  • Keen awareness of industry trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging opportunities.
