Job Description

  • Partner with the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and senior business leaders to co-develop and execute the digital delivery strategy, translating strategic goals into a clear portfolio, roadmap, milestones, and capacity plans.
  • Oversee portfolio intake, prioritization, and governance for all customer-facing digital platforms, including internal IT support for Sales and Collections, ensuring well-defined scope, value, dependencies, and readiness for delivery.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery across the lifecycle-from ideation and requirements gathering to development, testing, release, and post-launch stabilization-ensuring consistent outcomes, high quality, and faster time-to-market.
  • Manage and grow the Platforms & Delivery team (including Platform Managers, Product Owners, and Release/Delivery functions), fostering strong accountability, performance, and effective ways of working.
  • Design and implement robust release and production readiness processes, including release planning, go/no-go decision criteria, rollout and rollback strategies, incident preparedness, and change management to enhance system reliability and minimize disruption.
  • Maintain and continuously improve business-as-usual (BAU) operations for mobile and digital channels by optimizing performance, reducing defects, driving operational excellence, and managing technical debt.
  • Champion excellence in platforms and integrations across systems and channels (e.g., APIs, partners, and internal platforms), improving system availability, responsiveness, observability, and scalability in collaboration with IT, Enterprise Architecture, and SRE/Operations teams.
  • Define, monitor, and optimize delivery and platform KPIs in collaboration with Digital Product and Analytics teams (e.g., time-to-market, release success rates, uptime/SLOs, MTTR, funnel conversion, and adoption), and drive continuous improvement actions.
  • Identify and shape initiatives based on business priorities, data insights, and customer needs, working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing/Lifecycle, Analytics, and Ecosystem teams to turn opportunities into actionable delivery plans.
  • Work closely with IT leadership to ensure appropriate engineering resources, environments, and support structures are in place for both projects and ongoing operations, including capacity planning, vendor management, and operational ownership.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Tech Digital Platforms Delivery should have:

  • Over 10 years of experience in leading digital platform and technology delivery across mobile, web, and API environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing full delivery lifecycles, from intake and development through testing, release, and ongoing operations.
  • Strong expertise in release management and production readiness, including go/no-go decisions, rollback strategies, and incident preparedness.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Platform Managers, Product Owners, Engineering, QA, and DevOps/SRE.
  • Deep experience in Agile delivery practices, including backlog management, sprint planning, dependency coordination, and driving predictable execution.
  • Solid knowledge of modern engineering standards and practices such as CI/CD, automation, observability, and service-level objectives/agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
  • Hands-on experience delivering integrated solutions across internal systems, external partners, and vendors, with a focus on API-first design and resilient architectures.
  • Ability to define, track, and optimize key delivery metrics, including time-to-market, change failure rate, mean time to recovery (MTTR), and overall platform stability.
