Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure Design for Testability is performed on all products released for manufacture
  • Processing of Engineering Changes, including interfacing with engineering and manufacturing to ensure
  • completeness of the changes, and for follow through of implementation of the changes with respect to
  • test processes both internally, and with external partners
  • Maintain and enhance manufacturing test systems and software as required at the company's selected EMS
  • providers.
  • Provide immediate support to manufacturing test issues encountered in production
  • Coordinate with Electronics Manufacturing Service providers and Contract Manufacturers to resolve
  • technical issues with the company's products.
  • Evaluate alternate vendors for manufacturing services quality and commercial appropriateness to the company.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key material vendors and manufacturing service providers.
  • Assist/Coordinate manufacturing quality audits, and review/evaluate product quality of
  • materials/products contracted by the company, including incoming and/or outgoing quality audits of the company's
  • products, as needed.
  • Develop/Assist in the development of manufacturing test specifications, and the implementation of
  • manufacturing tests as required.
  • Provide leadership to junior engineering, technologists, technicians, operations staff and coop/interns
  • working in the manufacturing team.
  • Additional duties will be to assist with day to day coordination of the Manufacturing Team activities.
  • Provide direct day-to-day guidance to members of the manufacturing team as needed.

The Successful Applicant

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or B.A.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years work experience (not counting co-op experience) in front line manufacturing
  • engineering roles for electronics manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Strong ability to interpret hardware designs, including reading electronic schematics and interpreting Bill
  • of Materials
  • Experience with writing software in at least one of C, C++, C#, LabView, TestStand, Python
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Linux installation and configuration. Experience with PC hardware configuration and
  • installation of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Experience with both board level and system/box level manufacturing and test methodologies.
  • Experience with data collection methodologies, and data analysis for monitoring production yields and
  • failures (statistical process control).
  • Experience with change control processes

Experience Desired:

  • Experience with change control processes and theories is desirable.
  • Experience with RF products is desirable.
  • Experience with relational database basics, including configuration and maintenance.
  • Experience with manufacturing test strategies and implementations would be an asset.
  • Experience with engineering and manufacturing systems (e.g. BOM management, schematic capture)
  • Experience with SQL database queries and report generation
