Job Description

  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor operational risks across various banking operations and functions.
  • Develop and implement risk control measures to mitigate identified risks, ensuring business continuity and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure the bank complies with relevant regulations, internal policies, and industry standards to manage operational risks effectively.
  • Oversee the investigation and resolution of operational risk incidents
  • Prepare and present regular risk assessments, reports, and dashboards to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Strengthen and enhance the bank's internal controls to prevent financial losses and safeguard operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on operational risk management best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, Compliance, Audit) to ensure cohesive risk management efforts across the organization.



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in operational risk management, ideally within the banking or financial services sector, with a strong understanding of risk frameworks and controls.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques and statistical analysis to monitor and assess risk processes.
  • Strong skills in identifying risk management and control deficiencies, performing root cause analysis, and developing strategic action plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with internal control teams, compliance, audit, and operations management.
  • Experience in developing, enhancing, and evaluating policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure effective control activities.
  • Experience in managing vendor risks and ensuring documentation accuracy during vendor adoption and procurement processes.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in monitoring and reporting on risk and control activities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and evolving business needs.
