Job Description

Inbound Inquiry Management

  • Handle high‑volume compensation inquiries across phone, live chat, email, and ticketing systems.
  • Provide real‑time, accurate information on salary ranges, pay grades, bonuses, and compensation policy application.



Sensitive Conversation Handling

  • De‑escalate emotionally charged discussions involving pay anxiety, perceived inequity, or merit cycle disappointment.
  • Use active listening and a neutral, fact‑based approach to resolve concerns during the first interaction whenever possible.



Data Navigation & Analysis

  • Navigate HRIS, Workday, and global compensation databases to quickly retrieve accurate data.
  • Provide personalized, data‑driven context around an employee's pay positioning and applicable salary ranges.



Policy Translation & Education

  • Convert complex compensation terminology (e.g., compa‑ratio, market reference point) and legal requirements into simple language.
  • Help employees understand the logic behind merit increases, promotions, and range design.



Documentation & Reporting

  • Log all interactions, data provided, and policy clarifications with precision in ticketing systems.
  • Identify recurring issues or gaps and escalate findings to Compensation Analysts, HRBPs, or leadership for resolution.



Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all responses follow standardized scripts, policy guidelines, and region‑specific legal requirements.
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy to avoid legal risk and regulatory non‑compliance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Pay Associate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in compensation, rewards, or related HR roles.
  • Strong skills in Google Sheets, analytics tools, and Workday.
  • Exceptional active listening, empathy, and de‑escalation capabilities.
  • Ability to explain complex data in simple, conversational language.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams and global stakeholders.
