Job Description
- Leads a project team in planning, developing, recommending and implementing key strategies to achieve approved project completion dates and budget.
- Develops and enforces project work standards & general guidelines and reviews & approves work methodology & materials used based on recommendations of consultants and trade managers.
- Manages resources through regular & strict monitoring of project timelines & budget; Develops and implements cost efficiency measures across all construction stages, and evaluates variations, claims and final accounts prior to recommending payment to consultants and contractors.
- Evaluates and monitors contractor qualifications & performance and tender submissions based on procurement strategy, tender processess & contractual agreements and actively participates in tender evaluations and negotiations
- Manages allocation of project resources comprising of people , materials and time within assigned project.
- Reviews, monitors & approves design based on quality standards& agreed timelines; Evaluates variations and approves design modifications in consultation with consultant, contractor and affected trades.
- Consolidates & reviews all project cost reports, tracking logs and identifies potential issues & recommends alternative solutions to ensure compliance with agreed budgets and timelines
- Creates an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort; coaches, counsels and mentors employees, and manages individual and team performance to bring about expected results.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Building Technology (must be a chartered or licensed Engineer)
- 15 years relevant experience in construction and property development/real estate, and 10 years in a management role
- Understanding of brand image and standards, Local Building Code and related laws
- Proper management
