About Our Client

Our client is a multinational non-profit public charity that develops nature-based solutions to three core challenges of food security, ecosystem regeneration and regenerating a healthy climate including atmospheric carbon removal. Since 2019, our client has been developing its award-winning Marine Permaculture seaweed mariculture technology in Cebu, the Philippines. Through deep-water irrigation, Marine Permaculture technology accesses nutrients from depth to regenerate seaweed growth, increase productivity by extending the growing season and enabling seaweed growth offshore.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Marine Site Manager within the management team is responsible for overseeing operations of the whole site on a day-to-day basis and that a project comes in on time and on budget. They are responsible for staff utilization and effectiveness as well as major asset protection on land and in the sea, in coastal areas that are subject to frequent typhoons and other disruptions.
  • During the development of a project, a Site Manager's role comprises monitoring the progress and reporting to the senior management team, ensuring the productivity and safety of the team and site workers and project assets and diagnosing and solving issues that may arise. These responsibilities outline the purview of the site manager, however some of these tasks can be delegated to other team members as required
  • Provided the site manager monitors their work.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate staff, Sub-Contractors, material suppliers and utility providers to ensure efficient program development for strategic objectives.
  • Scheduling work to be carried out to ensure key design and development goals are met, development timelines and time frames are optimized, resources (both human and assets) are well utilized, and asset values are conserved through regular maintenance and protection against storms and other disruptions.   • Time and cost management skills are also required.
  • Effective daily use of appropriate company mobile apps, Information Systems and cloud databases. Experience with systems such as: Slack, Google drive, Google documents, Monday.com, Gantt charting, QuickBooks online and related project management tools is preferred.
  • Comply with Site Manager responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and complete the relevant documentation on regular schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures and instructions at all times.
  • Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance-manage staff to ensure staff are fully utilized and motivated to achieve the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

The Successful Applicant

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced technical leader with engineering experience in the marine sector with demonstrated hands-on experience, including the management and care taking of marine assets and platforms, ideally with a qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Certificate and suitable shore experience. Effective management of coastal and or offshore team operations is important.
  • At least 10 years work experience running marine work sites with experience working within and managing teams of 20+
