As a Software Engineer (API), you will develop and implement automation solutions for the Service Bench platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams to build innovative features, ensure compliance with security and delivery processes, and support solution adoption. You will utilize your expertise in API development, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies like AWS and Azure to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in an agile environment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Understand the bank's application platform strategy and implement automation solutions to support its execution.
  • Business: Collaborate with the Service Bench Management team to develop industry-leading features and capabilities.
  • Processes: Ensure solutions align with the bank's software delivery processes and meet compliance and security requirements.
  • People & Talent: Work with a diverse team of engineers in sprint delivery, providing technical documentation, training materials, and ongoing technical support.
  • Risk Management: Incorporate the bank's risk management framework into the technology solutions being developed.
  • Governance: Support the bank's software delivery and quality assurance framework, contributing to governance and compliance activities.
  • Regulatory & Business Conduct: Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance with laws, regulations, and the Group Code of Conduct, identifying and mitigating risks where necessary.

The Successful Applicant

Must-haves:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development and API development.
  • Tool: Java or Python
  • DevOps: CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, and Ansible (preferred)
  • Automation testing: Cucumber, Selenium, & Appium
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
  • API



Nice-to-have:



  • Languages such as Java, Quarkus, GraphQL, JavaScript, Python, Kotlin


  • Cloud services such as AWS EC2, Azure AKS as well as container platform such as Docker and Kubernetes


  • DevOps with exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible


  • KNative, Hasura, JWT, Helm


  • Test Management tooling such as Azure DevOps Test Plan (preferred)


  • Unix and Windows host operating systems, scripting (Bash/Shell or PowerShell) & networking (preferred)
