Present in 70 countries around the globe, the company is expanding in the APAC region with an objective of setting-up a plant in the Philippines by Q4.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the COO in the management and control of all specification sales activities of the specification and technical team including the setting of plans and objectives in accordance with the organization's marketing and sales strategy and allocated budget
  • Supervises the activities of the Specifications Team members if any

Within his / her areas of responsibility -

  • Identifies potential customers and projects for specifications development
  • Proactively selects monitors and tracks the progress of key projects within the key construction market sectors targeted by the company

Builds businesses of the company brand equity, and cultivates strong business relationships with Architects, Interior Designers, Property Developers, Engineers, Consultants and other specifiers by

  • Ensuring the comprehensive communication of the features, benefits, value propositions and relevant technical know-how regarding the use and application of the company's products and systems in order to persuade them to specify the company's products/systems in their building projects (with a view to achieving successful penetration against substitute building products and systems such as fiber-cement, plywood, brick & block and sand & cement)
  • Providing technical advice and training on the company's products and systems
  • Providing on-site support and audit on the proper installation of the company's products and systems

  • Acts as the company's leading technical representative and provides technical support/advice to Specification and Technical Team members, the Project Sales Team and the Area Representatives. Responsible for developing and maintaining the Specifications database of the company. Provides technical training and support on the company's brands products and systems to Distributors' sales teams. Continuously be updated and abreast of all the latest technical information on our products and systems
  • Monitors, analyses and provides management with all relevant market and competitive information (including but not limited to existing building methods, new building methods and any regulatory or legal requirements relating to the company's products and systems or the building industry in general, competitors selling prices and selling techniques, etc.)

Ensures full compliance with the up-to-date reporting requirements of management through the CRM tool or equivalent by ensuring

  • Detailed and accurate recording of activities including weekly call plans, visit reports, and details of agreements made with customers
  • Proper tracking and monitoring of relevant projects and packages in the key targeted construction market sectors
  • Timely preparation of monthly performance reports and other ad-hoc reports that may be required 

  • Coordinates with the project sales team to ensure that specified projects are properly turned over to the projects team for tracking and sales conversion
  • Advises management of any changes in local building industry requirements and highlight opportunities for New Product Development and/or opportunities for the provision of new systems and services to the company's customers
  • Ensures own personal safety and the safety of others, particularly when driving and when visiting hazardous areas including (but not limited to) building sites and warehouses. Maintain an adequate "trunk" stock of literature, samples and employee's own PPE including hard hat, safety shoes, hi-vis vest/jacket and safety glasses
  • Any other ad hoc activities that may be required by management

The Successful Applicant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or related fields
  • Has 5 years experience or more doing specifications work in the construction industry
  • Has a good network with specificators
  • Strong command of spoken and written English
  • Able to work without close supervision
  • Organized and goal-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills (Good and effective communicator; Good at building relationships; demonstrates positive attitude; Assertive, yet diplomatic and tactful; Good at resolving conflicts; Team player)
