Job Description

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with solar equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and technical partners from China.
  • Conduct technical and commercial discussions in Mandarin to support equipment sourcing and supplier evaluation.
  • Lead pre-development engineering assessments, including technical feasibility studies, equipment reviews, and risk evaluations.
  • Assess solar PV system designs, equipment specifications, and engineering solutions for quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical recommendations on solar modules, inverters, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Support supplier negotiations, quotation reviews, and technical clarifications throughout the development phase.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and external partners to review technical proposals and engineering deliverables.
  • Contribute to technology selection, project budgeting, due diligence activities, and engineering standards development.
  • Monitor market developments within China's solar and renewable energy sectors, including emerging technologies and supplier capabilities.
  • Provide technical input on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and hybrid renewable energy solutions where applicable.



The Successful Applicant

Ideal CandidateNon-Negotiables

  • Fluent Mandarin communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience within the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in solar PV systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Experience conducting technical assessments, supplier evaluations, and pre-development engineering reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering closely with project leadership.



Good-to-Haves

  • Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) qualification.
  • Established network of solar manufacturers, suppliers, EPC contractors, or technical partners from China.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale or commercial solar projects.
  • Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Experience in renewable energy project development, procurement, or technical due diligence.
  • Knowledge of international solar equipment standards, supplier qualification processes, and procurement practices.
