Job Description

  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and profitability.
  • Analyse market trends and customer preferences to optimise product assortment.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, contracts, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of products and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to align merchandising plans with business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of merchandising professionals to achieve departmental goals.
  • Prepare and present reports on sales performance and market analysis to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Merchandising should have:

  • A strong background in the retail industry with expertise in merchandising and product management.
  • Proven ability to analyse market trends and consumer behaviour.
  • Experience in supplier negotiations and managing vendor relationships.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
