Job Description

  • Design and enhance the Snowflake modelling layer using a medallion architecture framework (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Develop and govern semantic models, business metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards.
  • Centralise reporting logic to ensure consistent definitions across analytics platforms.
  • Deliver key business intelligence solutions, including executive and operational reporting.
  • Create automated testing frameworks to validate data quality and metric accuracy.
  • Manage transformation code, version control processes, and CI/CD deployments.
  • Optimise SQL performance and improve Snowflake compute efficiency.
  • Prepare curated datasets that support AI-driven analytics and conversational reporting.
  • Support data ingestion, replication processes, and pipeline monitoring activities.
  • Implement governance, metadata management, security controls, and documentation standards.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Customer Experience, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insights.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve SQL development, modelling, testing, and documentation efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or BI Development.
  • Advanced SQL expertise with strong experience in Snowflake environments.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Power BI, including data modelling, Power Query, and DAX.
  • Experience building semantic layers or governed metrics frameworks.
  • Exposure to dbt or similar transformation tools using Git-based development practices.
  • Experience with ELT pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with AI tools used for analytics development, testing, and optimisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with global teams and business users.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL migrations would be highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to Python, Fivetran, AWS ingestion tools, or Snowflake AI capabilities is beneficial.
