Job Description

  • Perform fault reproduction, troubleshooting, product characterization, and root cause analysis of customer-returned products.
  • Investigate complex product failures and drive effective resolution through structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and support teams to resolve technical issues across multiple product platforms.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Provide recommendations on corrective and preventive actions based on analysis results.
  • Participate in new product qualification activities to support product ramp-up and knowledge transfer.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power sources, loads, and EMI analyzers for testing and characterization.
  • Support reliability improvement initiatives through failure trend analysis and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of automated test solutions for failure verification and reliability testing.
  • Work closely with customers and internal teams to provide technical guidance and failure analysis expertise.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering best practices.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Failure Analysis Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in failure analysis, troubleshooting, or power electronics engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion topologies, including flyback, forward, boost, buck, and buck-boost converters.
  • Experience working with analog, mixed-signal, or power semiconductor devices.
  • Proficiency in laboratory test and measurement equipment.
  • Strong analytical and root cause investigation skills.
  • Experience with high-voltage debugging is advantageous.
  • Exposure to Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development or custom test systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Python, LabVIEW, or other automation tools would be beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
