Job Description

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of General Ledger accountants.
  • Partner with finance teams, business stakeholders, and auditors.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex accounting matters.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives.
  • Lead transitions, process migrations, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Support system implementations and finance transformation projects.
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics.

The Successful Applicant

A successful GL Team Lead should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • 8-10 years of R2R or General Ledger accounting experience.
  • 2-3 years of people leadership experience.
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience in audit support and shared services operations.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and internal control requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
  • Experience in transitions, process migrations, and transformation projects.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
