Job Description

  • Act as the main liaison for clients and internal teams on all vessel accounting-related matters.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver accurate monthly and ad hoc vessel financial statements.
  • Explain Opex variances and support clients in understanding cost drivers and budget impacts.
  • Monitor vessel expenditures against approved budgets and highlight potential overruns.
  • Oversee month-end closing activities to ensure complete and accurate financial capture.
  • Review and follow up on balance sheet items, ensuring timely reconciliations.
  • Support audit requirements and compliance activities by providing necessary documentation.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the vessel accounting team to enhance accuracy and overall performance.
  • Provide financial insights to technical and operational teams to support better decision-making.
  • Drive process improvements and support system enhancements for improved efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related accounting field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Strong supervisory and team leadership capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work effectively under time pressure.
