Job Description

  • Develop and Own Data Governance Framework Establish and maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
  • Lead Data Stewardship Initiatives Collaborate with data owners and stewards to define data elements, usage policies, and maintenance protocols.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance Align data management practices with regulations like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, and other local compliance laws.
  • Drive Data Quality & Integrity Implement monitoring, auditing, and cleansing processes to maintain consistent and reliable data.
  • Metadata & Master Data Management Build metadata repositories and manage master data across systems for standardization and discoverability.
  • Risk Management & Information Security Alignment Partner with legal, risk, and cybersecurity teams to mitigate data-related risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Training Act as the point of contact for data governance education across business units and promote a data-centric culture.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Data Governance Manager should have:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data governance, compliance, or similar data management function
  • Proven background in enterprise environments, preferably in multinational firms or large local conglomerates
  • Expertise in data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, COBIT)
  • Familiarity with data privacy and protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX)
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, data quality assessment, and data stewardship best practices
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms like Informatica, Collibra, IBM InfoSphere, Microsoft Purview, or similar
  • Proficiency in data cataloging, classification, and lineage mapping tools
