You will review clinical documentation, apply payer guidelines, and validate billing readiness prior to service delivery. The position works closely with clinical, intake, and billing teams to ensure compliance and minimise claim denials.

Job Description

  • Review and validate diagnosis and medication coding for infusion services, especially under payer restrictions
  • Evaluate payer medical policies and CMS guidelines to assess medical necessity and coverage eligibility
  • Ensure alignment between clinical documentation and billing codes before services are rendered
  • Coordinate and ensure proper completion of Advance Beneficiary Notices (ABNs), including correct modifier usage
  • Apply Medicare guidelines and FDA label coverage criteria in coding decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with infusion intake, clinical, and billing teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Identify and escalate complex reimbursement, compliance, or coding issues
  • Maintain detailed documentation to support audit readiness and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, payer, and internal billing policies
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance coding accuracy and reimbursement outcomes

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification from a recognised body
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical coding, billing, or revenue cycle operations
  • Knowledge of coding systems, payer rules, and healthcare workflows
  • Familiarity with outpatient or ambulatory coding practices
  • Understanding of reimbursement guidelines and documentation standards
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Exposure to government payer guidelines and compliance requirements
