Product Engineering Lead - Financial Services

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Delivery & Execution

• Lead engineering teams responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of technology components for the assigned domain.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of features, enhancements, and platform improvements.
• Implement engineering best practices including clean code principles, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and structured release processes.
• Monitor and manage domain level technical debt, addressing defects, performance bottlenecks, and stability issues proactively.

Domain Ownership & Technical Leadership

• Act as the primary engineering leader for a specific product area (e.g., digital channels, payments, lending platforms, integrations, or internal systems).
• Support architectural alignment by working with the CTO organization or enterprise architecture teams.
• Provide hands‑on technical direction to teams, guiding design decisions, review processes, and solution approaches.
• Ensure engineering outputs comply with internal standards for performance, security, and scalability.

Platform Reliability, Quality & Risk Management

• Oversee operational reliability and system availability within the domain, collaborating closely with IT Operations and Infrastructure teams.
• Ensure that platforms adhere to security-by-design principles and meet regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Drive the implementation of monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices relevant to the domain.
• Support root-cause analyses and preventive actions to reduce recurring incidents.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Digital or Business Units to translate requirements into executable engineering plans.
• Work with QA, DevOps, SRE, and Architecture teams to ensure alignment across the delivery lifecycle.
• Engage stakeholders in planning, status updates, risk identification, and release coordination.
• Provide technical insights to support prioritization and balancing of product, technical, and operational needs.

People Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in talent assessment, hiring, and succession planning for engineering roles.
• Advocate for skills development in modern engineering practices, tools, and technologies.

Vendor & Partner Coordination

• Work with external engineering vendors or system integrators to ensure delivery quality and alignment with the bank's standards.
• Oversee technical validation of vendor outputs and ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Support contract adherence, budget awareness, and performance monitoring for external partners within the domain.
