The Area Business Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, market share growth, and people development across the North GMA territory for the portfolio. This role leads a team of Medical Representatives and partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to execute strategic business plans and deliver sustainable results.

Job Description

Sales & Business Management

  • Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive achievement of sales targets, market share, and profitability goals for the Dermatology portfolio.
  • Analyse territory performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement action plans.
  • Manage resource allocation and ensure effective coverage of key healthcare professionals and accounts.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to optimise commercial strategies.



People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Medical Representatives to achieve business objectives.
  • Conduct regular field coaching sessions to improve selling skills, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development support.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and retention initiatives.



Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with key dermatologists, healthcare professionals, and opinion leaders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, and Commercial Excellence teams to maximise business opportunities.
  • Ensure excellence in customer engagement and execution of promotional activities.



Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all promotional activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate business reporting, forecasting, and territory reviews.
  • Monitor field activity effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.



The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience leading a field sales team.
  • Experience handling a Dermatology portfolio is highly preferred.
  • Strong track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing territories within North GMA or surrounding areas is advantageous.
